The ideal Nakavision home security setup
Thanks to Nakavision’s open network standards, you decide where the system saves data across your local network
The ideal home security setup
The following configuration guarantees uninterrupted operation and 100% security for your recordings.
Connection and placement: Wi-Fi or UTP?
Whilst the Nakavision C1 boasts an excellent wireless range, it is well worth taking advantage of the wired option for maximum stability:
- Physical UTP cable (Recommended): If a network cable is available at the camera’s location, connect it directly to the router or switch. This eliminates Wi-Fi interference, signal loss from walls, and guarantees continuous, seamless data transmission 24 hours a day.
- Wi-Fi connection: Ideal for areas that are difficult to wire. Ensure the camera is placed in a spot with a stable, strong Wi-Fi signal.
Data security without compromise: European servers
Unlike many other manufacturers, Nakavision places particular emphasis on protecting your privacy:
- Strictly encrypted European infrastructure: The system uses servers in London or Frankfurt equipped with modern encryption standards.
- Security firmware updates: The device regularly receives security patches.
Redundant recording to at least two locations
The biggest mistake is keeping a camera’s recordings solely on the memory card inside the device. If an intruder damages or takes the camera, the evidence is lost as well.
The ideal hybrid setup:
- Local backup (MicroSD card in the camera): Provides high-resolution recording, enables instant mobile playback, and continues recording even if the internet connection is temporarily interrupted.
- Network copy (Separate recorder on the local network): Continuously back up the camera feed to a physically separate device within your home.
Flexible network recording options
Thanks to Nakavision’s open network standards, you decide where the system saves data across your local network:
- Dedicated Nakavision NVR (ONVIF Profile S): The most stable solution. A standalone network video recorder (NVR) that continuously stores the high-resolution video stream (24/7), can be connected to a monitor, and archives footage onto a separate hard drive.
- Home NAS (Synology, QNAP, etc.): If you already use home network-attached storage, ONVIF support allows the C1 to record directly alongside your existing backups.
- PC or Mac (VMS/ONVIF software): Using management software installed on your computer, you can configure continuous or motion-triggered recording without any additional hardware investment.
For professional-grade home security, connect the Nakavision C1 via a stable UTP cable, insert a reliable MicroSD card for quick playback, and link it across your local network to a Nakavision NVR or NAS. This gives you a closed, dependable system that guarantees round-the-clock surveillance and complete protection for your data.
